Houston, TX – December 4, 2024 – Vincent Lighting Systems (VLS) is proud to showcase its expertise as the lighting integrator for Radio Tave, Meow Wolf’s latest permanent exhibition and fifth interactive art experience. Located in Houston, this immersive world transforms an ordinary radio station into an interdimensional adventure, brought to life through VLS’s innovative lighting solutions and meticulous execution.
VLS played a pivotal role in making Radio Tave an unforgettable visual experience, furnishing and installing over 1,600 lighting fixtures and effects. The scope of work included custom-built and retrofitted fixtures, scenic-integrated LED tape and neon, trussing, and a dynamic performance lighting package. The technical backbone of the installation featured 11 ETC Mosaic controllers, over 200 universes of Pathway DMX control, and comprehensive ETC Paradigm architectural controls, along with a dozen ETC Sensor IQ power control panels with emergency lighting and controls.
The integration process was guided by a commitment to creativity and precision. “A first-time visitor to a Meow Wolf often comments on the scale, and with Radio Tave, there are plenty of moments that deliver BIG. However, the more time you spend inside an exhibition, the more you realize it’s built from thousands of small details,” shared Bryan Mravec, VLS Director, Professional Services – Cultural & Themed Entertainment. “It’s those details I’m most proud of, delivered by the VLS team. Be it 3D printing a custom lens for The Ruins, retrofitting road-worn fixtures to fit the Cowboix Hevvven aesthetic, or spending hours perfecting the focus – this team has truly outdone themselves.”

The VLS lead integrators—Elanor Eberhardt, Tyler Ransdell, Jimmy Mish, Joe Bailey, and Gabe Kirik—dedicated months to perfecting Radio Tave’s lighting, supported by a rigging team led by Tom Lumley, Lake Baum, and Patrick Philibin. Their hard work ensured that every detail of this interdimensional journey aligned with Meow Wolf’s artistic vision.
Leading lighting design for Radio Tave, Chris Werner of Chris Werner Design commended the collaboration: “I love working with the team from VLS! They’ve been kind, skilled, honest, and fun. Each of them has approached the project with an open mind and a commitment to making it great. On our project sites, they’re known as problem-solvers and collaborators. Radio Tave is more than a surreal universe; it is a testament to the power of collaboration. With over 100 contributing artists, including 50 from Texas, the exhibition is a vibrant, multi-faceted environment featuring interactive elements, a cowboy dive bar, a gift shop, and a venue space.
Following the success of Radio Tave and The Real Unreal (Meow Wolf’s 4th immersive experience in Grapevine, TX) VLS continues to build its reputation in cultural and themed entertainment.
