All of them, but mostly Cleveland.
Where is Your Hometown?
I grew up in Edinboro, PA and Euclid, OH, whent to college in Cincinnati, OH, worked in NYC and started the business back in Cleveland in 1978.
What do you like about the lighting industry?
The people, the technology and the end results of creating a lighting system that works will for the client.
Who inspires you?
Many people, but mostly those who follow their dreams and create beauty and a better world. Creative people inspire me!
What advice would you give to someone who wants to enter the lighting industry?
Find something that you love to do and get someone to pay you for it. Be patient and honest with yourself and others. Don’t be afraid to push the “GO” button!
What’s one thing — either industry-related or not — you have learned in the last month?
The world is still a small place filled with many coincidences and good luck that we need to be ready to share with others.
What’s something about you (a fun fact) that not many people know?
I was born in Saint Vincent’s hospital, 2 months premature, weighed 2 pounds, and the Doctor thought I was a goner.
What’s the last book you read?
“Magpie Murders” by Anthony Horowitz
What is your favorite hobby?
Lighting for live productions and media.
What’s the first concert you ever attended?
“The Moody Blues” back in the 60’s.
What’s the next place on your travel bucket list?
I would like to visit all the US National Parks, by train, if possible.
If you had to eat one meal every day for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Pizza and beer, followed by ice cream, preferably Graeter’s!
What’s one item you can’t live without?
My iPhone.
